OMEGA's Speedmaster Mark 4.5

OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Snoopy | Fratellowatches

There are a few strap options as well, but nothing super exciting right now. At 24mm wide, you could fit any Panerai strap and it would look pretty cool. DWATCH does not currently offer a metal bracelet, but apparently they will soon. Inside the watch is a Swiss ETA high-grade 2824-2 automatic movement that finds itself in many a diver's watch - for good reason because it really is hardly and is a good movement. Nothing super fancy, but a good workhorse.

B.R.M. 3MVT-52 Three Dial Watch Available On James List Sales & Auctions

Seiko Luxury Watches Inside the Manufacture

If you recall I mentioned that this is the 1521 NH model. That stands for "northern hemisphere," which is the side of the Earth that you are looking at. There was a SH (southern hemisphere) version available as a limited edition that all sold out. Most of the world's watch buyers are in the Northern Hemisphere (Australia, no worries, I know you love watches too). The image of the map on the globe is done in a retro style that alludes to vintage navigational tools and maps decorated will mythical creatures in the water. At a time when there were still frontiers on terrestrial Earth, the Magellan 1521 would have been a good companion. However, if you own a zeppelin or blimp today, this is going to be a perfect watch for you. In fact, and eccentric classicist will feel more than in their element when adorning this watch.

Corum Admiral's Cup Minute Repeater Tourbillon Watch Watch Releases

The watch case is large at about 48-49mm wide. There is also a women's version at 39mm wide  - also not as thick as you'd think at 15mm. These are showy pieces, so it makes sense why they are bigger watches. Case material options will include steel, titanium or gold (yellow, rose, or white). Another camera style element is the ring around the dial. It is in enamel and meant to look like the ring around a camera lens. Pretty cool if you ask me. The rest of the watch case has some cool designs with those trendy horizontal lines and a robust crown guard. Like most Michael Bittel watches, each Eclipse is customizable to the buyer's specific desires. I will likely get to check these out in January in Geneva when they are officially announced.

Jorg Gray JG1900 Watch Review

Jorg Gray JG1900 Watch Review

According to Chéca, the watch is meant to appear like the "tortured" pieces of metal that lay thousands of feet underwater being corroded and abused by the elements. This is how a lot of metal on ships tends to end up after that long submerged in salt water. The metal here is bronze - although I understand that little bronze was actually used on the titanic. Though bronze does have the quality of oxidizing - so this watch will look even more weather battered in a few years. This one-off watch is big at 72mm wide (with crown) and  about 21mm thick.  Really massive. The form of the watch resembles the other Romain Jerome Titanic-DNA timepieces, but does not look exactly like them. It is as though the standard line has been, well...melted. From the messed up looking crown, to the hands on the dial that look too sad to read, this watch will work. I have a feeling that it will share the other models' ETA 2892 automatic movement inside of the watch. The highly abused looked of the watch continues onto the strap and the clasp. None of it feels realistic - as though it was pulled out from the depths - hence the artistic component. The only smooth and clean looking element of the watch is the sapphire crystal that is perfectly round and clear. The water didn't touch that part!

Omega Speedmaster '57 Caliber 9300 Reader's Contribution

Prices for the Morpheus Culinary watch range from about 0 - 5 for most versions of the watch, with the 24k gold plated version being 5. As a fun and functional timepiece it is enjoyable to have. You'll get the most out of it if you are an enthusiastic cook or are in a cooking related profession. Plus, the little culinary cues are nice to show off. I might wear the watch now as I am going to make dinner. Plus, even though it is a handsome looking watch, I don't need to worry to much about it. Think about how you'd fit a culinary timepiece into your life. Or perhaps someone you know. If the idea matriculates into a desire, have no qualms about picking one up.

"At the moment Edox is still a relatively unknown Swiss watch brand. However, they've made quite a few interesting watches during their 125 year history, for instance the 1961 Delfin watch which raised the global bar for shock protection and water resistance. Another interesting fact about Edox is that it remains an independent watch maker to this date. This adds an nice authentic touch to their products. They recently launched a new line of Grand Ocean watches to celebrate their 125th birth date and commemorate the Delfin.

IWC Big Pilot Top Gun Replica Watches Hands-On

Now for the little culinary tidbits. The watch has a few little "delectable" pieces. First you have the sapphire crystal of the watch. It combined with the bezel emulate the look of a glass saute pan lid cover. See it? Clever right. Then you have the crown and pushers that are meant to look like knobs on stove range. The black color also contrasts with the gold (or steel) tone for a nice look. Check out the crown guard over the crown that looks like the handles on a pot (well rendered), and the lugs that look like the connectors of a handle rod on a pan. In my opinion these elements are well integrated into the look. Almost as though they have always been design elements of timepieces. In this regard I feel as though the Culinary and watch themes really meld well together.

Omega Speedmaster Pro 145.012-67 As Wedding Gift - Speedy Tuesday

While quartz watches dominate the market today, they are arguably less "emotional" and refined than mechanical watches. Which is why enthusiasts just seem to prefer mechanical watches more (even the people at Seiko as their best watches are mechanical or mechanical in spirit). However, that was not the case when the Quartz Seiko Astron was initially released. It was a unique piece of highly sophisticated technology, and only Seiko had what it took (lots of patience and dedication) to make it happen. It a lot of hard work and 10 years of time isn't emotion, then I don't know what is. For that reason some of the classic quartz watches like the Seiko Astron and ones like it are of the most interesting quartz watches to inspect and own as a collector. www.seikousa.com

I can't say that I know the origin of the SpidoLite name or design. Perhaps if I did I would be able to comment on it outside the realm of speculation. But as far as speculation goes, I have a good handle on things when it comes to what Linde Werdelin did to make the SpidoLite what it is. I seems like the good people there had a little talk about what they could to do in order to follow some of the current trends in watch making and watch lover demand. Among those items are use of titanium, skeletonization, cross-company collaboration, and utilizing NOS (new old stock) movements. They were able to fit each of these elements into the SpidoLite watch, and do so in an interesting way. You can read about my announcement of the Linde Werdelin SpidoLite watch here to get some basic information of the available SpidoLite models. You don't need any special information in how to operate this vintage movement. It doesn't operate quite as smoothly as the ETA 289X series of movements used in other Linde Werdelin models, but has a unique charm from back when mechanical movements were more than just a purists delight (as they are today), but were how most watches at the time operated (before the quartz revolution/crisis).

I recently discussed the Arlanch watch, another Swedish timepiece. That watch and this "Dragon" from Gustafsson & Sjögren (who call themselves GoS for short) couldn't be more opposite. One a distinct bore (Arlanch), while this one (GoS) a distinct work of art. Their real contribution to the work of horology is their uses of Damascus steel that they develop themselves. You might not like all the watch they do, but you have to admire their talent and dedication to their artistic pursuit. What started as a talent for collector's knife making eventually found its way into working on watches. They have a few models, each similar in tone with the specially created and polished metal being the main attraction. Plus, all the Damascus metal they make is done by hand.

My opinion is that it takes years of learning about watches to really appreciate the little details that Perrelet puts into its watches. It makes me think about all the people out there who have nice watches and have no perception of the little amazing details because they simply aren't watch lovers like us, or no one pointed the features out to them. Thus, it makes me happy that this unobtrusive "nice" watch from Perrelet has a number of quality details that aren't easy to find in watches, that I can recognize and appreciate each time I wear the watch. Overall, it is the level of refinement along with the fit and finish of this watch that are the most impressive. The style is classic and sober - with emphasis on ease of use and straight forward functionality.
